Located in the Jhelum valley on the way to Wular Lake through Safapur, one can access this lake from Srinagar either through Shadipur or through Nasim and Gandarbal. This tranquil, transparent expanse of green water is named after the revered Mansarowar lake, which borders the equally sacred Mt. Kailash.

DAY 1

Manasbal Lake

During the summer, this lake, averaging a depth of 12 meters, transforms into a picturesque scene adorned with lotus flowers. In the winter, it becomes a haven for bird watchers, boasting one of Kashmir’s largest natural habitats for aquatic birds. Baladar Mountain offers a scenic overlook on the eastern bank, and the northern bank holds the remnants of Darogabagh.

DAY 2

Mughal Garden

Nur Jahan’s creation, a Mughal garden by the lake named Garoka (meaning bay window), offers a splendid view of the surroundings.

DAY 3

Safapur

The village of Safapur features a Chinar tree grove known as Badshah Boni, or royal Chinar, replicating the Nasim Bagh in Srinagar. Irrigated by a canal from the Sindh River, constructed in the 15th century by a Badshah, Safapur also houses a cave carved by a mystic, with his grave next to a small shrine. Adjacent to this lies a tourist hut.

DAY 4

A Campsite

Camping enthusiasts can enjoy the serene ambiance at Qoz Bagh, another lakeside Chinar grove. Additionally, a government rest house is available by the lake for accommodation.
