About Tour

Verinag is situated at an elevation of 1,876 meters, and it is thought to be the primary source of the Jhelum River in Kashmir. The Verinag spring features an octagonal base, encompassed by a covered passage. Construction on both the base and the arcade was initiated by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir, and it was completed during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan. The downstream area to the east of Verinag displays remnants of Mughal pavilions and baths. This spring, named after Nila Nag, the son of the renowned Hindu sage Kashyap Rishi, credited with establishing the territory of Jammu and Kashmir, stands as a prominent attraction for tourists visiting Verinag. Originally circular in shape, the spring underwent a transformation during the rule of Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1620, when he ordered its renovation into the traditional Mughal octagonal form.

Pir Panjal Range

The Pir Panjal pass is situated to the west of Srinagar. At the southern end of the Kashmir valley, the Banihal pass (2,832 m) is positioned at the head of the Jhelum River. On either side of the pass, one can find Banihal and Qazigund.

Kapran is a village in Shahabad Tehsil within the Anantnag District of Jammu & Kashmir State. Positioned 21 km south of the district headquarters of Anantnag and 79 km from the state capital Srinagar, Kapran is surrounded by Qazigund Tehsil to the west, Achabal Tehsil to the north, Pahloo Tehsil to the north, and Banihal Tehsil to the south.
